When was the company established?

A:

PARCO's predecessor, Ikebukuro Station Building Co., Ltd., was founded in February 1953. After the name change to Tokyo Marubutsu Co., Ltd. in May 1957, the name was changed to PARCO CO., LTD. in April 1970.

PARCO is engaged in the development and management of urban shopping complexes. Through the lens of ‘Urban Revitalization’, we leverage our strength in comprehensive shopping complex production, incorporating expertise in marketing, planning, designing and management/operation, to operate each PARCO store, develop the ZERO GATE business model, and expand our entertainment business.

Please tell us the origins of the PARCO corporate name.

A:

“PARCO,” the corporate name, means “park” in Italian. A park is a place (or space) where lots of people can gather, where people can share time and space, and where people can relax and have fun. That’s also what "PARCO" is.

Please tell us the distinctive aspects of PARCO’s business operations and all the areas of its activities.

A:

The company group (PARCO Network companies) is engaged in four major areas of business:

1.Shopping Complex business Development and management of urban shopping complexes
2.Retail Business Development of unique specialty stores selling specialized products, such as watches, eyeglasses, sundry articles or cosmetics
3.Space Engineering and Management Business Space design and facility management, which involve equipment, interior construction and design, cleaning and security for shopping complexes
4.Other Business Web consulting business and entertainment business

A:

One of the characteristics of our management system is that we adopt a Company with Auditors system and have a Nominating and Compensation Committee in addition to the Board of Directors and Auditors.

Our accounting period ends on the last day of February.

What accounting standards does PARCO adopt?

A:

PARCO has adopted International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) from Q1 FY2017.

A:

Monthly tenant transaction volume year-on-year change was disclosed on the PARCO website until February 2020. It will be posted on the monthly report page of J. FRONT RETAILING.
